If you have bought a blooming Chrysanthemum in a pot, during the Fall, then by now the flower has probably lost its blossom. It is your task to save the plant so that its blossom can make you smile for many years to come. You should bare in mind that as a rule, Chrysanthemums are not pot, but garden flowers. So, you need to provide them with similar conditions.
In December, however, it is impossible to take them outside and plant them in the garden. That is why it is desirable that you move them to bigger pots now, so as to provide them with more nutritious soil. The place you need to put them should be cool and without stale air. Basements are suitable for this purpose. If you do not have such place, you could put them on the balcony, if it is a closed one. If that is not possible for you as well, you could put the flower pots outside, but after you provide them with the necessary protection from environmental factors – wrap the pots in proper insulation materials, and put a small bag on top of the plants (made of natural materials), or you could also use leaves to cover them up. Put the pots upon little blocks so they are not in contact with any surface and do not retain extra water. Place them near a wall, out of sight of strong and cold winds.
When the winter is over and the weather becomes warmer, move the Chrysanthemums in the garden and plant them there. Chrysanthemums require pervious ( allowing water to pass through) and nutritious soil. These plants grow and develop well when put in open, sunny spots or in a dappled shade.
